KARSTADT PARKING GARAGE FLENSBURG

Based on the initial design for the parking garage, a new design approach was explored from both economic and urban planning perspectives.

The objective was to minimize space requirements within the constraints of the designated building area, thereby alleviating the confined spatial situation adjacent to the neighboring Europahaus. As a result, a rotunda is proposed as a distinctive urban landmark, complemented by a separate exterior staircase designed as a secondary shell. The external design features a spiral with a diameter of 38 meters, culminating in a canopy at a height of 31 meters.
