SPORTS CENTER FALKENSEE

After 15 years of intensive discussions with TSV Falkensee e.V. at regional, municipal, and club levels, our office was commissioned at the beginning of 2022 to conduct a feasibility study. The study aims to examine the feasibility of a club-owned sports facility at the Sportpark Rosenstraße site. Potential solutions are being evaluated in terms of social, functional, and economic aspects, as well as sustainable construction and use. The importance of the project for both the club and the city has been repeatedly emphasized.

TSV Falkensee e.V. is one of the largest sports clubs in Brandenburg. The plan is to create new sports spaces in Falkensee that will serve as a hub for education, health, integration, and inclusion, focusing on the well-being, health, and enjoyment of all age groups. A forward-looking urban planning approach is needed, one that incorporates sports development planning.

The Turn- und Freizeitwelt TSV Falkensee e.V. project features a fully equipped gymnastics hall as its centerpiece, complete with equipment rooms, changing areas for indoor and outdoor sports, a gallery for approximately 50 spectators, and additional ancillary rooms (hall caretaker, control room, technical spaces, etc.). Furthermore, the sports complex will include a covered outdoor sports area and a space with outdoor fitness equipment. The task was to determine how the sports hall and outdoor areas could be functionally and urbanistically integrated into the available space.

Minimal traffic areas, compact construction, and sustainable façade materials ensure an environmentally conscious approach. The roof surfaces contribute to the building’s sustainability by mitigating temperature fluctuations and providing more effective interior insulation.
