VISITOR CENTRE CASTLE GHAMISHLOO, ESFAHAN, IRAN

On behalf of the Finc-Foundation, the office of Behzadi + Partner Architects BDA prepared a feasibility study and cost estimate for the renovation of the Old Castle Complex in Ghamishloo, which was built during the Qajar Dynasty (1789 – 1925). The complex is located in the Ghamishloo National Park near Esfahan. The existing structure covers an area of 8,800 m².

The typical Iranian courtyard development consists of floor-to-ceiling surrounding walls made of adobe and features multiple courtyards that open inward. The complex is intended to serve as a visitor center for the national park and will include spaces for a café, exhibition areas for cultural heritage and natural environment, as well as accommodations such as individual rooms and necessary functional areas. The renovation and restoration measures are planned to be carried out in two construction phases, with the goal of preserving the structure of the complex.
