PARKING GARAGE, BRÜHL, OELSNERSHOF, LEIPZIG

Located in the heart of the city, the new parking garage is tasked with fulfilling numerous roles beyond mere functionality. As part of the urban fabric, its design distinguishes itself through its massing and reflects the transition from the former Brühl buildings. The entrance area of the planned arcade is clearly marked within the ground floor, which is utilized by shops and cafés. In terms of aesthetics, the challenge was to develop a facade that acknowledges the building’s purpose while still meeting the design standards expected of an urban structure.
