GALILEI PRIMARY SCHOOL, BERLIN

Nearly hidden, located at the border of Berlin Mitte and Berlin Kreuzberg on Friedrichsstraße, is the Galilei Primary School, situated amidst the typical block house structure of this city area.

On behalf of Nauerschnig Architects Berlin, and in close coordination with the client, the District Office of Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, we took on the complete construction supervision for the necessary fire protection renovation, including the implementation of soundproofing measures.

Our services also included the preparation of all tender documents prior to the construction work.

The project involved installing fire-resistant doors (glass/aluminum) to all stairwells, as well as upgrading the corridors to meet fire protection standards as required by building regulations. Additionally, wall acoustic panels were installed in the long corridors, which are a defining feature of the building, to improve sound insulation.
