CORRECTIONAL FACILITY AND HOSPITAL, LEIPZIG

From 2016 to 2022, our office was responsible for construction supervision and the preparation of the specifications for the correctional facility located at Leinestraße 111 in Leipzig. The design of the building complex, including the hospital, was developed by Fricke Krüger, Nusser Plan 2 GmbH from Munich.

The exterior appearance of the hospital was designed to harmonize both tactilely and color-wise with the older hospital section and was planned as a three-story building without a basement. In contrast, the adjacent building segment features four stories, creating an interesting height variation that considers the proximity to the perimeter wall. A notable architectural feature of the site is the recessed courtyard, which enhances the amount of natural light entering the building’s interior.
