MUNICIPAL ANIMAL SHELTER, 1. - 3. BA, LEIPZIG
As a result of a successful expert assessment process, the site for the municipal animal shelter was developed over a 10-year period.
Starting with the renovation of an existing building as the first phase, the shelter was expanded in phases two and three through the construction of new buildings according to the overall urban development concept. The facility now accommodates approximately 200 dogs, 100 cats, and small rodents. This is complemented by a food kitchen, storage and technical rooms, and a veterinary treatment room. The modern, functionally designed buildings, featuring extensively greened sloped roofs, create a distinct and self-contained environment.
