B&B HOTEL, NIKOLAISTRASSE 34, LEIPZIG
The last gap in the historic Nikolaistraße in the center of Leipzig has been closed.
For over 15 years, Behzadi+Partner Architekten BDA developed a wide variety of concepts for this important urban development gap. The time had finally come in 2013.
The hotel chain B & B Hotels acquired the property and erected a building with around 91 rooms based on our design and implementation planning.
The prominent location in Leipzig’s city center required sensitive planning of the façade design as well as functionally optimized floor plans. The materiality and proportions of the façade design refer to the window structures traditionally typical of this street. Floor-to-ceiling window openings in thirds characterize the adjacent existing buildings. The copper patina structure surrounding the windows also takes up the motif of the crowning elements of the Wilhelminian style buildings.
