GEB.24, GOK, SANIERUNG AULA, LEIPZIG
Commissioned by the Saxon Real Estate and Construction Management, Building 24 at the General Olbricht Barracks was upgraded in terms of fire safety and energy efficiency. The planning was based on conceptual considerations developed in 2011 for this part of the building. The auditorium within the building had previously been reduced by an existing suspended ceiling to a height of approximately 3 meters.
The main focus of the implemented measures was the expansion of the auditorium space, including the immediately adjacent entrance area. In the auditorium area, unnecessary wooden structures in the roof space were removed to open up the perceivable roof area, enhancing the space’s overall impact. This was done in conjunction with fire load removal and structural adjustments.
The building was handed over to the user on June 15, 2023.
