RESTORATION OF LAUTERBACH CASTLE TOWER, SAXONY
Located to the north of Dresden, Lauterbach Castle is set in an English landscape garden, the castle park. After extensive restoration work between 2006 and 2014 by the municipality of Ebersbach together with the Förderverein Schloss und Park Lauterbach e.V., the historic ensemble was preserved and made accessible to the public for cultural purposes.
In November 2019, Lauterbach Castle also regained its former tower in accordance with the historical model. With the appeal “Become a tower lord”, the Förderverein Schloss und Park Lauterbach e.V. succeeded in giving the castle its historic tower back after 88 years.
On behalf of the Förderverein, the tower was completed at the end of 2019 after the planning was finalized according to historical archive plans and photographs in coordination with all building surveys and the coordination with the monument office.
Without the many donations from descendants of former lords of the castle, members of the association, friends of the castle, Saxon companies and the support of Behzadi + Partner, the association would not have been able to complete this task. For 14 years now, the association, together with the municipality of Ebersbach, has transformed the once sad-looking municipal property into a stylish meeting place for young and old in many small steps. Behzadi + Partner took over the planning and cost calculation for the castle tower free of charge.
