HERMSDORF FIRE STATION, BERLIN
Based on a target plan developed in 2013, along with an associated cost estimate, the phased renovation of the Hermsdorf Fire Station in Berlin was initiated in 2015 under the commission of Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH. The initial focus was on a comprehensive, preservation-compliant restoration of the building’s exterior. This included tasks such as a complete re-roofing of the building, including sheet metal work, installation of new window systems, and expert plaster repairs on the facade. Additionally, the roof space was professionally cleared of hazardous materials.
In 2016, the renovation efforts primarily concentrated on the interior areas of the building, which were fully refurbished and upgraded for fire safety. This phase involved the creation of new sanitary, changing, and break areas for the fire station staff, along with the installation of new door systems in accordance with a concurrently developed fire protection plan.
The construction work was successfully completed in January 2017, resulting in a fully renovated fire station.
