FIRE STATION SPANDAU NORTH, BERLIN

The service building of the Spandau North Fire Station, designed by architect Johannes Gluer, was constructed and inaugurated between 1925 and 1926. Today, the ensemble is under urban heritage protection. The architectural firm Behzadi + Partner Architekten BDA was commissioned with the phased renovation of this historic building. The plans included the complete renovation of the roof of the side wing, as well as the fire safety upgrade and restoration of the main building. The first phase of the construction involved the heritage-compliant restoration of the side wing and was completed in 2013. The overall construction began in 2012, with the second phase being handed over in August 2014.
