GOETHE INSTITUTE, LISBON

The phased refurbishment and fire safety upgrading of the Goethe-Institut in Lisbon was successfully implemented.

The first construction phase primarily involved upgrading measures to meet fire protection requirements. These measures included the implementation of a second structural escape and rescue route as well as flanking measures for the affected structural areas, which were carried out during ongoing operations. Completion took place in August 2012.

At the same time, new classrooms were created and the entrance area within the building was connected to a cafeteria and thus spatially reorganized.
