WINKELMANN GROUP - PRODUCTION HALL, MEXICO
Winkelmann Automotive Group is one of the world’s largest suppliers of engine and transmission components for all major automotive manufacturers.
To optimize the supply of customers in the passenger car and truck drivetrain sectors within the NAFTA region, a new production and assembly hall, including office space, was constructed in the economic hub of Lagos de Moreno, Mexico.
The main structure of the facility was built using large steel frame elements with concrete block infill. The façade design, featuring smooth light-colored surfaces in contrast to dark, rough natural stone cladding, gives the building a high-quality appearance that is rare among industrial structures.
Behzadi + Partner Architects BDA took on the roles of project management, construction supervision, and functional specifications for all building systems. Initial earthworks and foundation work began in mid-2016, and by the end of the year, the shell construction was completed, allowing the interior work to commence.
