ZWEIFELD-SPORTHALLE STRAUSBERG NORD

From 2017 to 2019, our office was commissioned for the construction of a two-field sports hall in Strausberg Nord, featuring a gallery on the upper floor and a conditioning room in the adjacent extension.

The two-field sports hall was positioned close to the existing sports fields and small playing areas and was classified as a special building according to Brandenburg’s Building Code. The design aimed to accommodate multifunctional use.

Characteristic features of the sports hall’s exterior include the cantilevered rigid sun protection structure made of grid panels and the continuous window band, which provides uniform natural lighting of the interior. Additionally, a skylight band made of frosted glass was incorporated to optimize lighting while minimizing unwanted reflections from direct sunlight.

Also notable is the parallel extension, which houses, among other things, a conditioning room, social and storage rooms, and ancillary spaces. The facade of the extension is slightly differentiated in color from the main hall, giving the sports hall additional depth.
