Feasibility study for the Falkensee Sports Centre, Brandenburg

After 15 years of intensive discussions with TSV Falkensee e.V. at regional, municipal and club level, our office was commissioned with a further feasibility study at the beginning of 2022. The study is intended to investigate the feasibility of a club-owned sports facility at the Sportpark Rosenstraße site. Possible solutions with regard to social, functional and economic aspects, as well as sustainable construction and use, are examined. The relevance for the significance for the club and the city was made clear several times.

The club TSV Falkensee e.V. is one of the largest clubs in Brandenburg. Now new sports facilities are to be built in the sports town of Falkensee, which will serve as a centre for education, health, integration and inclusion and will focus on well-being, health and fun for young and old. What is needed is future-oriented urban planning, which also integrates sports development planning, among other things.

The Turn- und Freizeitwelt TSV Falkensee e.V. project includes as its core a fully equipped equipment gym, equipment rooms and changing areas for indoor and outdoor sports, a gallery for approx. 50 spectators and other necessary ancillary rooms (hall attendant, control room, technology, etc.). Furthermore, a covered outdoor sports area and an area with outdoor fitness equipment were to be provided in this sports area. The task was to check on which available area the sports hall + outdoor areas could be well integrated in terms of urban development and functionality.

Little traffic space, a compact design and sustainable façade materials ensure a sustainable approach. The roof areas also contribute to the sustainability of the building. In this way, temperature fluctuations can be reduced and more effective insulation of the interior can be achieved.
