Behzadi Architekten: Renovation of Building 24 for Architecture Day 2024
For Architecture Day in Saxony, we at ‘Behzadi Architects’ are proud to present the completed renovation of Building 24 at the General Olbricht Barracks in Leipzig. This significant structure, spanning 180 meters, has been thoroughly modernized to meet current energy efficiency and fire safety requirements.
Between 2021 and 2023, we renovated the large auditorium by removing the original low ceiling and restoring the space to its original generous design. Old timber constructions and damaged trusses were replaced. Additionally, we installed underfloor heating and a modern ventilation system to improve energy efficiency and optimize fire safety.
We are excited to showcase this impressive renovation, which preserves the building’s historical charm while meeting modern standards.
