Since the winter semester 2020/21, students at the University of Potsdam have been able to use the apparatus gym. The official opening is scheduled for spring 2021 and will also be open to clubs in the future.
In 2015, as part of a selection process, the office was commissioned to provide a very sophisticated building design.
In close consultation with the user, various conceptual considerations were developed for the functional and structural design of the entire sports hall complex as a future equipment gym.
A main hall for the equipment sports area in combination with two individual gymnastics halls, a weight training area as well as additional office and lounge areas form a compact-looking, very functionally designed building. Characteristic is the open façade structure made of fibre concrete panels, which is designed in free form.
