Restricted Competition - 2nd PRIZE, Redesign of the Große Brauhausstraße Quarter, Halle/Saale
For the redesign of the Große Brauhausstraße/corner of Rannische Straße, Halle (Saale), a non-open anonymous competition was announced by the GP Papenburg Group of Companies. The 2nd prize was achieved.
The design for the development at Große Brauhausstraße 17 picks up on the existing development by creating a small forecourt by creating an urban niche. For the façade design, the cream-coloured clinker brick was adopted in the existing building due to its customary local use.
For the corner development at the corner of Große Brauhausstraße and Rannische Straße, horizontal divisions and a round corner design have been used to respond to the surrounding development.
Repetitive window proportions and staggered storeys mediate between the two buildings and the surrounding buildings.
