BFC Preussen - New Arena / Sports Complex
Since its founding in 1894, BFC Preussen has significantly shaped and developed the sports landscape in Berlin. As one of the pioneering clubs in the city, BFC Preussen is still recognized today as a trailblazer in the sports field. The club owns a roughly 8-hectare site in the heart of Berlin-Steglitz, in the Lankwitz district, and is the only club in Berlin that enjoys the privilege of having its own sports area.
The new concept for the BFC Preussen Sports Complex includes the construction of three new football fields: a main field with an area of 9,460 square meters and 2,454 seats, a training field with 6,575 square meters and 900 seats, and an artificial turf field with 5,840 square meters. In addition, two beach volleyball courts, a two-court sports hall, and a three-court sports hall will be built to cover a variety of sports.
The development also includes a sports hotel with 200 beds, intended for accommodating visiting teams, athletes, and guests. To support the health and recovery of athletes, modern physiotherapy and medical facilities will be integrated. Gastronomic services and administrative offices will ensure the smooth operation of the complex.
Future expansions of the complex include the construction of a private, sports-oriented daycare with a playground, as well as a children’s activity center (Kinderwelt) that will offer exciting activities for children.
This comprehensive planning project aims to create a multifunctional sports complex that covers a wide range of activities and services. It is designed to engage the community, expand recreational opportunities, and provide top-notch training facilities for professional athletes, thereby continuing BFC Preussen’s legacy as a cornerstone of Berlin’s sports culture.
